A rare and unusual Spanish heirloom. Piel de Sapo is Spanish for frog's skin and is named after the amphibian looking skin of this sweet melon. This melon is a firm favorite with any family that grows them, and you will have this one on your annual planting list.
The Australian farmers have made it their own by calling it 'Croc-melon'. Either way, the looks are deceptive, as the pale inner flesh is dense, sweet and juicy.
