Charleston Grey
Citrullus lanatus
Charleston Grey was developed in 1954 in Charleston, South Carolina. This watermelon is a decent sized oblong fruit with a mottled grey skin, thick rind and a sweet and tasty flesh that is fiberless. The best watermelon we ever ate, was picked in the late afternoon whilst entertaining friends. We walked to the garden and pulled a huge 40lb Charleston Grey off the vine. It was slightly warm, but oh, so sweet! Best dessert ever!
Resistant to Fusarium I and III, and Anthracnose
