Cucurbita moschata
This medium to large sized pumpkin gets to around 6-10lb (3-4.5kg). The smooth skin is a buff/tan color with a slightly flattened wheel shape, and resembles a wheel of cheese. The dense orange flesh has a sweet and mild flavor and is delicious stuffed and baked or used in pies. An American heirloom from Long Island. Stores very well.
