Phaseolus vulgarus
This Canadian bean is a really fast producer. A bush bean that produces very well in cooler and shorter season climates. A multipurpose bean that is good as a green bean, a shelly bean and as a dried bean. The dried beans have beautiful maroon stripes and speckles on a creamy base. It is a pity that they loose the coloring when cooked, the texture and flavor more than makes up for this though.
