Raphanus sativus
Champion radish is a well-rounded, scarlet skinned radish with a firm, crisp, white flesh that keeps well without going pithy too quickly. It has a lovely sharp bite that gets stronger as it gets larger. Can be eaten fresh in salads, chopped up for stir-fries, pickled and also delicious roasted with a little olive oil, garlic and rosemary. This is an older, standard variety.
