Facing Heaven
Capsicum annuum
An old Chinese variety from the province of sichuan, where it is a staple in every kitchen. They get their name from the fact that the chillis grow facing upwards as opposed to 'hanging'. The chillis have a lovely rusty red color and a zesty, citrus flavor with a decent punch of heat to back it up. The thin wall on Facing Heaven makes for a superb drying chilli for storage.
