Black Diamond Watermelon
Citrullus lanatus
A large heirloom variety that grows fruits up to 30-50lb (13.5- 22.5kg). To grow larger fruit, the fruit-set must be limited and some fruit removed. The dark skin hides a beautiful bright red-pink flesh that is crisp, juicy and sweet. These are quite drought resistant, prolific producers of large, oblong, dark skinned watermelons. Popular with home and market gardeners alike.
