This Italian heirloom loves the heat and performs best in warmer climates. The fluted, deeply lobed fruit makes for a gorgeous slicer for salads or open sandwiches. The flesh has an acidic, slightly sharp flavor that has a full bodied tomato flavor to back it, rounding off the flavor quite nicely. A great sauce tomato, cooking tomato that is becoming more popular with chefs.
