Wow, never thought my eggplants would be so successful. Mine kept on producing well into April. I had six plants and we were giving away plenty at the end.

This eggplant is so tasty, and when picked at the just the right time it's not bitter at all. We let it get to about the size of a woman's hand. We had three plants and got enough for our family of 4 and some to give to neighbours. We planted out the young plants in spring, it's now Autumn and we are on our third flush of fruits for the season.

This old Spanish heirloom dates back as far as the 1850s. It is definitely one of the prettiest looking eggplants with its beautifully purple and white striped skin. The skin is thin and can be left on the mild flavored fruit for cooking. Once established, this variety is extremely hardy and loves the heat and a long growing season. Also known as Striped Guadalupe.
