Assam Pepper

Great producer of beautiful purple pods that ripen to a deep red. Thin walled with a long flavor profile that includes berries and black pepper. Heat is not off the charts, but it will make you give it some attention. Tall upright bushes make for a superb accent plant, and it is well suited as an ornamental that will pay for it's keep by producing masses of tasty pods.
There are many varieties called Assam and most likely this pepper was collected in the Assam Province in North Eastern India. This is very close to the Nagaland region of India where the original Naga's were collected.
This pepper is a first release as we have grown it for a number of years without releasing it to the public. Our original seed came from a seed swap via the U.K.
