 Couve Tronchuda is often referred to as a kale or as a leaf cabbage. Although it has many similarities to a kale in its loose leaf growing habit, the flavor and leaf texture is definitely closer to that of a cabbage. The beauty of this loose leaved variety, is that you can harvest over an extended period of time and are not limited to harvesting a single head of cabbage. A very hardy plant, has good disease resistance and produces well. Best known for its use in the traditional Portuguese dish, Caldo Verde.
