This variety was propagated by Fred J. Prichard in 1917 and was released in 1925 by the United States Department of Agriculture.

The plants are resistant to Verticillium and Fusarium wilts, as well as humidity resistant, disease resistant and crack resistant.

Marglobe is a medium-large firm tomato which has a tasty and smooth flesh. It is great for using fresh, canning or making sauces.
